It\u2019s time to get hooked on the Idaho outdoors! Local mental health agency A Body & Mind Health Services (ABM) is hosting its annual \u2018Hooked on Mental Health\u2019 event Saturday, April 23, at the Caldwell Rotary Pond. The all-ages event begins at 8:30 a.m. Fishing permits and loaner rods for the event will be provided by Idaho Fish & Game at no cost to participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Hooked on Mental Health\u2019 serves as a platform\nto promote mental health awareness in the Treasure Valley and\nhighlight the therapeutic benefits of being outdoors. ABM invites the\npublic to grab their fishing gear and come out to support the cause. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMental health is so important\u2014we have to work\ntogether as a community to address it and provide local resources,\u201d said\nPatrick Fithen, ABM Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. \u201cThere tends to be\na stigma when talking about mental health. When we provide opportunities for\nthe community to get together and discuss the topic, it becomes easier to share\nand talk about. We hope this will become\nan annual celebration and opportunity for the community to gather mental health\nresources, create healthy relationships, and fall in love with fishing while\nenjoying what Idaho has to offer.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
